CHILLICOTHE, OH - Rich in tradition, high in the pinnacle of racing action, K-C Raceway and the 1998 edition of "Saturday Night Excitement" opens a new era Saturday, June 20 when the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint cars and STARS Late Models join forces for "The Night the Stars Come Out" anniversary special paying $7,000 in each division.

Frankie Kerr, currently third in All Star points won the May 25 show at K-C, while in the Late Models Rick Aukland, of North Dakota claimed the season opening STARS main event.

Currently Kenny Jacobs leads the All Star points over Joey Saldana, Kerr, Dean Jacobs, Keith Kauffman, Scott Jones and Brian Smith. Kenny Jacobs and Saldana each have four All Star wins this year, while Dean Jacobs has three and Kerr two. The local K-C regulars ranging from 22-32 in number will join this elite group in addition to several out-of-town stars.

An already heated points race has developed for regular weekly racing. Rodney Duncan heads the 410 Super Sprints over Craig McGuire, Hud Horton, last year's champ Jimmy Stinson and Chad Kemenah.

Plenty of free parking and primitive overnight camping awaits the fans, plus some additional seating has been erected in turns one and two just shy of the pit area. Gates open at 4:30 and racing is at 7:30 p.m. K-C is located 12 miles south of Chillicothe, Ohio, 6 miles north of Waverly, off St. Rt. 23 on Blain Highway.
