All Stars set to invade Michigan
CAMARGO, IL -- The Haulmark All Star Circuit of Champions will invade the Wolverine state for a doubleheader weekend of sprint car racing action June 6-7. Friday night's action takes place at the Hartford Speedway Park in Hartford, MI with Saturday's action moving to the Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, MI. This weekend of action will feature the All Star regulars challenging the Michigan sprint car regulars All Star drivers expected for the weekend's action include defending All Star champion Chad Kemenah, Jason Johnson, Dean Jacobs, Kenny Jacobs, Jeff Shepard, Bill Rose, Craig Keel, Greg Wilson, Kelly Kinser, Jimmy Hawley, Ed Neumeister, Dale Blaney, Byron Reed, Bruce Robenalt, Barry Ruble and Ryan Coniam. Michigan drivers expected include Todd Wohlford, Jeff Rankin, Bob Thoms, Jeff Smurr, Mike Schumacher, Daryl Shaffer, Aaron Shaffer, Mark Brougham, Steve Zabonick, Ken Mackey, Mark Clark, Brett Mann, Jeremy Campbell, Ben Rutan, Gary Fast, Eddie Smith, Mark Aldrich, Robert Huisken, Joe Trudeau, Marvin Pifer, Doug Deuell, Joe Bares, Dewain Medlin, Tom Miller and Corey Bevard.
While Butler is a mainstay of the All Star tour with yearly visits to the high banked oval, the ultra fast half mile at Hartford has only hosted the All Stars twice in the past, with Joey Saldana capturing the 1995 checkered flag and NASCAR Busch Series driver Kasey Kahne sitting in victory lane last season.
Butler has hosted a baker's dozen All Star events with 10 different race winners. The Butler winners list includes Tim Green, NASCAR Winston Cup driver Dave Blaney, Denny Donaldson, Jac Haudenschild, Rich Vogler, Robbie Stanley, Jeff Shepard, Kenny Jacobs and Greg Wilson. The only multiple winner is Saldana with three victories.
Each night features a complete program of time trials, heat races, dash race and consolation events, capped off by a $5,000 to win A Main feature.
Hartford Speedway Park is located in Hartford 1.3 miles north of I-94 (exit 46) on Center Street (past the traffic light), then west on Prospect Street for four blocks, then go north.
Butler Motor Speedway is located in Quincy. Take I-69 to exit 16. Then go east on Jonesville Rd. for 5 miles to Clarendon Road. Then go north on Clarendon Road for 3.5 miles.
