BECHTELSVILLE, PA - Holding off a strong bid by Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease won $5,000 in the All Star sprint Philadelphia Daily News Thunder on the Hill 35-lap feature Sunday night at Grandview Speedway. The event was co-sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts and AJ Hagerty Industrial Machine and carried a $27,000 purse. The KARS Sprints were also on the card, with Mark Richard winning the 20 lap main. A total of 78 sprint cars competed in the two division program.

The 35 lap A Main went the entire distance non-stop with Jeff Shepard the early leader. By lap 16, Shepard was still on top, followed by Kenny Jacobs in the Tim Hughes J&J with Dewease’s Dyer No. 461 third. A lap later, Dewease moved into second and set his sights on Shepard.
