ROSSBURG, OH - Kenny Jacobs continued his mastery of Eldora Speedway in the $4,000 All Star sprint 30-lap feature Saturday night on Eldora’s 44th anniversary race night. The win for Jacobs was his 16th career Eldora All Star triumph, and came over Frankie Kerr and Keith Kauffman.

"I had a good race car tonight. I started using up my tires getting around Frank, then the lapped traffic slowed down Frank and gave me a shot to get him," Jacobs recalled after his fifth win of the season. "The Tim Hughes, Bob Kriner-Chevrolet ,J&J, Goodyear car was just perfect. I just want to thank George Gillespie of Pro-shocks, he helped us a bunch to get the car perfect."

"We just fell a little short, we were a little loose," Kerr recalled of second. "The left rear tire gave up, but I’ll take second right now."

With eight cars inverted for the start, Kerr started on the ButlerBuilt Hot Seat pole with Sarah Fisher alongside. Fisher led the first four laps in her Maxim in the outside groove until she hit lapped traffic, allowing Kerr’s Stan Shoff Eagle to close, then duck underneath in turn three to lead lap five. Kevin Gobrecht, who started fourth, also got Fisher and was second for a lap until Jacobs also moved by him just before seventh place Joey Saldana spun on lap seven for the first caution. Brooke Tatnell spun a lap later, and once the race settled down the order was Kerr, Jacobs, Fisher, Kauffman, Gobrecht, Butch Schroeder and Kevin Huntley. Jacobs applied heavy pressure to Kerr following the restart, and the lead duo were side-by-side in turn one on lap nine, and side-by-side out of turn four a lap later. On lap 11, Kerr rode the high groove while Jacobs pulled down low through turns three and four to try to make a pass for the lead. But Kerr held him off again. Lap 13 saw the leaders enter lapped traffic, and Kerr jumped the cushion in turn four, allowing Jacobs to catch him again. At the halfway point, Kauffman finally passed Fisher for third, with Kerr still leading Jacobs.

It was now a two car race, with Kerr still holding off Jacobs. Lap 19 saw Jacobs dive low in turn three and finally make a pass for the lead, by ducking under Kerr. At lap 21 when Tatnell spun again, the order was Jacobs, Kerr, Kauffman, Saldana, all the way up from the rear, and Fisher. Jacobs took off to a huge lead on the restart, and was not headed the final nine circuits. Saldana began fading, with Kauffman pulling up to Kerr but not able to attempt a pass for second. Huntley and Lynch moved by Fisher with five laps to go, making the finish Jacobs, who extended his series’ points lead with the full straightaway win, Kerr, Kauffman’s Warren Johnson Doemelt, Huntley’s Peterbilt Doemelt, Lynch’s J&J, Fisher, Saldana’s Stealth, Charlie Fisher, Schroeder and Todd Kane aboard Bob Hampshire’s Maxim.

The United Expressline heat fell to Huntley, the Southwest Expressline heat and the Commercial Truck & Trailer Dash went to Saldana, and the Southwest Glass heat was won by Kerr. Charlie Fisher was the United Expressline B Main winner. Dean Jacobs tagged the concrete turn two wall and flipped in the second heat. He was okay, and brought out his back-up car for the B Main.

In the ASCS Challenger 360 sprints, with 20 cars on hand, Phil Gressman recorded another Eldora win. He ran down early leader Mark Long just past the halfway point, and after running side-by-side for three laps, Gressman executed a turn four slide job on Long. The pair made contact at the flagstand, resulting in Long exiting with a broken front end and Gressman winning over Kyle Sauder, Roger McClain, Tim Allison who was doing double duty, and Matt Alloway. ASCS heats to Tim Allison, Long and Carl Fry, Jr.
