TAMPA, FL - 1/30/99 - Two separate $1,000 awards have been added to the $134,000 posted prize money that awaits the All Star Sprints when they invade East Bay Raceway, Wednesday, February 10 through February 13.

Track owner Stanley Kolan put all new clay on the 1/3 mile oval since the 1998 finale in November and he reports that his inaugural King of the 360 Winternationals three day event saw a new track record set each day. On the last day the 360's timed, 25 cars where under the previous day's record, with Kenny Adams fastest at 13.510 seconds.

Lance Dewease comes into the 23rd Annual Sprint Winternationals as the record holder with a time of 12.691, which Kolan feels may not stand. Therefore, he is posting an award of $1,000 in the event that there is a new record holder at the end of the four-day series.

In addition, he announced the high point driver for the Nationals will receive the newly named "Brigitte Emick High Point Award" worth $1,000.

Both presentations will be made during the driver introductions for the final $10,000-to-win 50-lapper on Saturday night, February 13.
