Ponce Inlet FL - After completing a successful 2000 season, All Star Circuit of Champions president Bert Emick is now in the process of scheduling races for the 2001 season for his traveling sprinters. The season starts with the Florida Sprint Nationals on February 8-11 at Volusia Speedway Park at Daytona Beach (Barberville), followed by a February 14-17 show at East Bay Raceway in Tampa (Gibsonton), culminating in a $25,000 to win finale. Several major events are already in place for 2001, including Western Pennsylvania Speedweek June 13-17; Ohio Sprint Speedweek July 1-7; Thunder Through the Plains August 13-18; the Sharon Nationals (Hartford, OH) on Labor Day weekend; and the Hoosier Fall Classic on September 15th. Many dates at other tracks are already penciled in but will not be released until the schedule is complete. For the first time ever, the All Stars have been invited to be a part of East Bay Raceway's Open Wheel Florida Fall Nationals in early November. The All Star Board of Directors voted to keep the purse and sanction fees the same as last season. Promoters are invited to call Emick at (904) 756-9225 for dates, or visit the All Star booth in Section A at the PRI Trade Show in Indianapolis November 30 to December 2. The All Star banquet is also scheduled as part of the PRI Show on Friday night, December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel. More information is available on the All Stars' website www.allstarsprint.com.
