410 Sprints headed to Crawford County in Denison, Iowa.

The 410 sprint cars will make their only appearance of the season at the Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa on Friday night, May 24th. The event, which will be sanctioned by the NMRA series, will pay at least $2,000 to the winner and $300 to start the A-main.

"The race is going to pay at least $2000 to win, but we're working on some sponsorship and it could pay even more than that," said Crawford County Promoter, Howard Mellinger. "We're also going to have a $500 bonus to the highest finishing 360 cubic inch sprint car. We just want to have a good field of cars on hand for the fans and have a real good show."

The Crawford County Speedway, which has undergone a major renovation in the offseason -- including a brand new grandstand -- is a wide, fast half-mile speedway with a reputation for being very smooth and adequately prepared.

Several of the area's top drivers, including the 3-time Knoxville track champion Terry McCarl, Huset's Speedway champion Jake Peters, and last year's 1,200 lbs. Nationals champion and a winner of a 360 race at the Crawford County Speedway Don Droud Jr. These drivers and many more from the Knoxville Raceway, the Huset's Speedway, and the Minnesota and Nebraska regions are expected to attend.
