1999 Hoosier Tires California Sprint Car Civil War Series schedule announced
Traveling series will compete in 12 events at five different California tracks
ROSEVILLE,CA 12-15-98- The 1999 schedule for the Hoosier Tires California Sprint Car Civil War Race Series was has been completed and released from the office of John Padjen Motorsports. The upcoming series will consist of 12 events at five different California tracks. The California Sprint Car Civil War Race Series is a traveling series dedicated to winged 360 cubic inch powered sprint cars. The series travels to various tracks in the golden state between the months of March and October. Drivers competing in the Civil War campaign are awarded accumulative points as well as earnings for their success in each Civil War event. Additionally, the series posts a $20,000 championship fund which is divided up among the top ten point earners accordingly at the conclusion of the series. In 1999 Civil War competitors will add John Soares Antioch Speedway to their list of race dates. This will be the first time the Civil War will compete on the 1/4-mile dirt oval near the California coast. The visit will come late in the Civil War campaign as Antioch's sole hosting of the series will take place on August 14 with the ninth round of the campaign. As it has in the past, the Hoosier Tires Civil War will kick off on March 20 at Mel Hall's Twin Cities Speedway in Marysville. This 1/4 mile clay oval located in heart of the California farming community will host a total of three Civil War events. Competitors will return on June 12 for the fifth round of the series and then on October 2 for the 12th and final series event and the crowing of the season champion. Petaluma Speedway will again host the Civil War Sprint Cars this season. Competitors will visit the 3/8 mile facility for the second round of competition on April 24 and then return for round 78 on July 24. Alan Padjen's Placerville Speedway will host a total of three Civil War events. On Saturday, May 1 Placerville will host the third round of action in the Civil War Series which will return four round 8 on July 31 and the second to last leg of the series on September 25. John Padjen's high banked Silver Dollar Speedway will also host three Civil War events this season. Saturday, May 30 will mark the first visit to Chico for round six. Civil War competitors will return to the north state on July 16 and once again on Wednesday, September 15 for the third annual Pacific Sprint Cup Invitational which will accommodate the top 32 drivers in Civil War points and will open the annual Gold Cup Race of Champions featuring the World of Outlaws.
