Scuderia Playteam Sarafree is raring to go at Nuerburgring for Superleague Formula race
Scuderia Playteam Sarafree's two V12, 750- horsepower cars featuring the colours of international football club Galatasaray SK on one car, and the popular magic red and black colours of AC Milan on the other are ready for this weekend's second round of the new Superleague Formula season on September 20 and 21st. Both cars made their race debut at the start of the season on August 30-31, 2008 at Donington in the UK under heavy rain.
25-year-old Dutch driver Robert Doornbos who races in the prestigious red and black colours of AC Milan explains: "I am looking forward to this race. I have finished on the second step of the podium at Nuerburgring in F3000, which is a good memory for me. I like the Nuerburgring. It is a nice circuit with lots of history. The level of driving is high with four or five corners that will be very tricky with a heavy car like ours. I would rate everything positively here, from overtaking, to the pit lane and without forgetting safety. Let's hope that our season really starts here."
Italian Alessandro Pier Guidi will gear up for action at the wheel of the Galatasaray SK car together with rookie Turkish driver Jason Tahinci.
Alessandro Pier Guidi driving Galatasaray SK car commented: "I was not impressed when I arrived at the track in Donington and saw so much rain. I hope we will learn from our troubles there. Here at Nuerburgring, I am eager to properly start for this new challenge since the track is new to me. I'll try to do my best working with the team, the mechanics and our engineers at Scuderia Playteam Sararee aiming at familiarising myself quickly and planning to work really hard. I've tried this circuit several times on video simulations, but it's not quite the same although the provide a fairly good idea of the difficulties that a driver can encounter for the first time out on a track. I hope to do a good job with the team and to put on a good show for the spectators and the fans of my team."
Jason Tahinci commented: "I will do my best to help Galatasaray SK shine in the Superleague Formula. I really can't wait to get in the car on a dry track this time!"
Scuderia Playteam Team owner and founder Giambattista Giannoccaro commented: "I hope for a better weekend than our first appearance at the Donington track. Establishing yourself in a new championship is not easy. We need discipline and hard work since the track is quite tricky. Let's hope our luck improves for the second of the six championship rounds."
