Alvaro Parente -- now with Superleague in mind
Alvaro Parente doesn't stop and, after the podiums from Spa-Francorchamps GP2 rounds and 1000Km of Hungaroring GT pole-position, next weekend he will be at Adria to take part in another Superleague Formula by Sonangol round.
During the last few weeks the Portuguese youngster has been under the spotlight, showing his huge talent and eclecticism with great results at circuits so different as Hungaroring and Spa-Francorchamps or in series as diverse as GP2 and Le Mans Series.
Next weekend the Futebol Clube do Porto driver, still fresh from his astonishing return to GP2, will be at Adria for the eight round of Superleague Formula by Sonangol, showing himself aware that the series that puts on track some of the most important football clubs of the world will present him another challenge. "We will see, the cars are very different, they have diverse characters, so I have to reset and put the Superleague Formula by Sonangol chip. As usual, I'll give my best so I can reach some good results and score some good points to recover in the championship. However, we will have to work hard, because the grid is very strong", underlined Alvaro Parente that added: "I don't race at Adria for a long time, I will have to relearn the circuit, but I think that that won't be a problem during the weekend".
His outing at the Italian circuit it will prevent him from racing at the Estoril round of the Spanish GT Championship, which puts him out of contention for the title. Nevertheless, the Portuguese driver looks to this situation with the professionalism that he always show, though he would like to race in front of the Portuguese fans. "Of course I'm disappointed to miss this round, because I won't be able to fight for the title and this race will be held at Estoril. Besides, I like Aurora Racing Team very much, there is a very good environment within the team, but commitments are commitments and you have to respect them", said Alvaro Parente.
