2005 UROC World Championship Winner Tracy Jordan in Serious Accident at Baja 1000

Orem, Utah - BF Goodrich Tires work horse Tracy Jordan survives a crash in Baja, Mexico during the Baja 1000 race after rolling his buggy off of a 300 foot cliff. Jordan has been a heavy contender of the UROC ProNational Rockcrawling Championships for the past six years and holds two national titles plus the 2005 World Championship title and is no stranger to off-road motorsports.

Baja is harsh and there is a foreboding air about it, there are a thousand miles and a million ways to get in trouble. Jordan had finished a 250 mile leg of the race and switched to the co-driver seat with Freestyle motocross superstar Kenny Bartram at the wheel. "We were 800 miles into the race and doing pretty well when we came around a corner a bit wide and caught a tire off the edge. The cliff was about 300' tall" said Jordan. "I remember counting three rolls and then nothing." Thrown around like a rag doll, Jordan found himself at the bottom of the cliff with dazed consciousness. "My helmet was cracked and nearly in two pieces, I was dazed, and we had a huge climb to get back up to the road" Recalls Jordan. Upon reaching it they were fortunate to have team 1702 from the Jeepspeed class come up to them. Team 1702 was also fellow rockcrawler Eric Filar, who recognized a team in trouble and had to make the choice of staying with the injured team or continuing the race. Filar, showing the integrity that he has, chose to stay with Jordan and Bartram until the SCORE rescue officials arrived on site.

Tracy was rushed to medical examination both in Mexico and then in the states where he was informed of a concussion and some minor neck and back trauma.

With only a week until the Champ must defend his crown at SuperCrawl V many might ask, "Can he do it? Is he too shaken or physically ready?" Asking the super smooth Jordan directly gets a calm "I'm not shaken physically and ready to go for the win." response that typifies a confident world champion.

The World Championship SuperCrawl begins Saturday December 2nd and Sunday December 3rd at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, AZ. The SuperCrawl features teams from the United States, Japan, Mexico, Australia, and Canada competing for bragging rights for themselves and the countries they represent.
