Newsflash Baja 1000: Second over the line and vice champs

Dear Friends, Partners and Sponsors,

Last weekend we finished second at the Baja 1000 and with this secured the vice championship in the world's toughest offroad racing series! That's a fantastic outcome after only our second full season in the SCORE International Offroad Series. And I can assure you, this result was a good reason for us to celebrate.

Ok, I must admit, we were all a bit disappointed to miss out on the championship by such a small margin. Up to half distance of the 672 mile race I led our class followed by my team mate Armin Kremer. I was third overall at times, driving amidst the much stronger Trophy Trucks, and I think we turned a few heads with that! I think our incredible speed was possible to a big extent thanks to the new Bilstein suspension we had under the car.

Martin took over for the second stint and again put in a brilliant performance -- only to be held up by the gearbox leaking oil. Well, our crew rushed to him and repaired. Martin was able to continue but lost 20 minutes. So we were beaten by the class winners Jerry Penhall/Dan Martin by just 13.48 minutes. Armin Kremer and Andreas Aigner matched our pace until their alternator played up. Again, our mechanics saved their race. Armin and Andy finished 13th in class. Ronnie Wilson is the new champion, and I heartily congratulate him!

For me, I can only say "Thank you" to you all who supported us in a successful season of fascinating motorsport. I'll be back here with a short roundup of the year and my race report at the beginning of December.

Thanks again! And best wishes to you all,
    Armin
