Saturday's morning Trans Am qualifying session was turned into practice due to the postponed session Friday. The starting grid for todays race will be determined by the seasonal points standings. This will place Paul Gentilozzi on the pole, with teammate Johnny Miller shareing the front row. Brian Simo, Tommy Archer, and Lou Gigliotti rounding out the top five. This race will decide the winner of this years' series. Gentilozzi or teammate Miller will be crowned Trans Am champ in victory lane.

Gentilozzi's Jaguar XKR turned in the fastest time in morning practice at 1:13:256. Tommy Archer in the Control Concepts Viper turned in a time of 1:13:462. Tony Ave, Johnny Miller, and Micheal Lewis round out the top five.

Track conditions are marginal at best with rain and lower temperatures over night. Damp conditions caused some trouble with the front runners in practice. All the drivers choose to go out on slicks this morning even though BFGoodrich has brought their new rain tire for the teams. Johnny Miller found the track just a bit slippery as he made contact with the tire barrier causing some minor body damage.

Today's race is scheduled for 3:15pm rain or shine.
