Hugh sutton returns to the King RAT Motorsports pro spec miata team for USERA Round 3 at Mosport
BERRYVILLE, VA (April 13, 2006) - King RAT Motorsports has announced that Hugh Sutton will return to the team to co-drive with Payton Wilson in the United States Endurance Racing Association's Spec Miata Endurance Championship series round 3 at Mosport International Raceway on May 20-21, 2006 as part of the Victoria Day Weekend SpeedFest.
Sutton previously competed with the King RAT Pro Spec Miata team in the Mazdaspeed Miata Cup in 2005 as a teammate to Wilson. That year, Wilson and Sutton grabbed the top two spots on the grid in both races of the doubleheader at Mosport with Sutton setting the fastest race lap on his way to his first professional podium finish. Wilson also scored his first professional race win at Mosport in 2004 and went on to become the Atlantic Tour champion of that series.
Wilson and the King RAT team are undefeated at Mosport in 4 races in two years of Miata Cup racing. Sutton is currently competing in SCCA National Spec Miata races in the Midwest division where he is currently the points leader, but will reunite with his former teammates for this round and a chance at the victory.
"We are overjoyed to have Hugh back on the team for this event," said team owner, Kim Ratcliffe. "Hugh brings an unwavering commitment to excellent to the team. This is a great opportunity for us to pair him with Payton in the same car in the endurance format." The team expects that this strong driver combination with proven results at this venue to be the ticket to victory in the third round.
