Final SCCA Solo Tour Event of 2004 This Weekend in Bremerton

TOPEKA, Kan. (July 23, 2004) -- After this weekend, there won't be anymore "next times" for soloists who want to compete in The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour as part of their preparation for The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Championships as Bremerton Speedway in Bremerton, Wash., hosts the final Tour event of 2004 Saturday and Sunday.

Over 230 competitors, some from as far away as Texas, South Carolina and Pennsylvania, have entered, ready to soak in one more action-packed weekend of Tour competition before September's Championship event.

Many top names are included in the final Tour field, including Super Stock driver Tom Kotzian, of neighboring Gladstone, Ore., who will showcase his Trackside/Coachman Auto Body 2001 Chevrolet Corvette.

The Isley's, Jason and Jennifer, of Mission Viejo, Calif., will burn up the Bremerton grounds also, splitting time in their sccaforums.com/Kumho Motorsports 1989 Corvette. Jason will spend his seat time in A Stock, while Jennifer is entered in A Stock Ladies.

Last year's F Street Prepared National Champion Allen Kugler will challenge for the furthest distance driven this weekend as the Springtown, Pa.-resident gets his final Tour runs in for the year driving his C Stock TJ Tire 2000 Toyota MR2.

Ron Bauer, of Renton, Wash., hopes to show off the talent this weekend that won him the D Stock Championship in 2003. He'll have to beat out 10 other drivers in his Kumho/Bauerspeed Racing 1998 Acura Integra Type R, including his 2003 D Stock Ladies Championship-winning wife, Annie, who will pilot the Team Butt Heat! 2000 Integra Type R supplied and also driven by Brent Vitolins, of Bothell, Wash.

The course at Bremerton Speedway will open for walking at 7 a.m., and the first car is due to start at 9 a.m. Saturday. Day two's competition will begin at 8 a.m.
