Toby Grahovec Captures First Career SCCA National Championship
Mansfield, OH (September 25, 2005) Toby Grahovec captured his first Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) National Championship with a flag to flag victory on Friday at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Grahovec led a 36-car Showroom Stock B (SSB) field from Pole Position and was never challenged for the lead. The only challenge of the week happened in the post race technical inspection, but the Classic BMW team was cleared upon further review. Although this was the first SCCA National Championship Runoffs victory for the Palos Park, IL native, it was the second consecutive SSB win for the BMW Z4. Grahovec's winning effort will be broadcast on the Speed Channel on November 20, 2005 at 1:00pm(EST).
"To win my first National Championship in the last Runoffs at Mid Ohio is really special," said Grahovec. "I can't thank Eric Maas and the team from Classic BMW enough for putting this effort together. My Paw Power Z4 was awesome. Tom Bull and Brad Hamilton came up from Texas to work on the car and were amazing. The car doesn't even have a scratch on it. I can't wait to do this again!"
