Honors For Bakersfield Race Driver

January 24, 2004 - Irvine, CA -- Bakersfield resident and rookie race car driver Madalynne Crowe was honored by the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) for her third place finish in Super Unlimited season points for 2003. Campaigning a 7s Only Racing prepared Mazda RX-7 against more powerful Porsches and Cameros, Ms. Crowe earned four top-3 finishes in the series. In spite of a mechanical DNF in the next to last race of the season, Madalynne still managed to end the season only a few points behind Glenn Yee Motorsports driver Geoff Escalette (Porsche 996 Cup) in the battle for second place in season points.

Even though she had no prior racing experience, Ms. Crowe compiled an impressive 2003 season in SCCA and NASA road racing. In 23 starts, Madalynne had nine podiums and 21 top-10 finishes, including 17 consecutive (she had 2 mechanical DNFs). Madalynne moved to Bakersfield last year to pursue her racing career.

When asked to look back on 2003, and ahead to 2004, Crowe commented "2003 was a successful season for me. I had a very steep learning curve, but was able to reach the podium in every race series I competed in. I couldn't have done it without my crew chief, Tom Dragoun, and the 7s Only Racing team."

She continued, "2003 was all about learning how to drive and how to race. 2004 will be about learning how to win!"

Madalynne's 2004 season begins on January 31 at California Speedway in Fontana.
