Lance Knupp and Lady Luck Motorsports Ready to Challenge for SCCA National Championship!

For racers, as the winter doldrums begin to melt away, they are replaced by an impatience to get back on-track. SCCA National T1 power-house LadyLuck Motorsports, along with their principal driver and team owner Lance Knupp, have finished their pre-season preparation and testing, and are itching to get their 2006 season rolling, for what is expected to be a dominating season.

Last season ended on a strong note for Knupp's #37 LadyLuck / Hoosier / Hawk / Moton / Jay Chevrolet Corvette, setting five (5) new track records, and finishing on the podium at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Unlike some who claim numerous track records and poles in lightly contested championships with little competition, these records came during some of the largest, most fiercely contested T1 races ever, at some of the SCCA's most presitigious events. Perhaps the most impressive of these was a new qualifying lap record of 2:24.9 at Road America, during the Chicago Region's June Sprints- the first leg of the SCCA Triple Crown. The second leg- winning your Divisional Championship- was easily accomplished by Knupp, as he consistently crushed some of the toughest T1 drivers in the country. Drivers that included the likes of past SCCA National Champions and Pro Racing (both SCCA ProRacing and GrandAmerican) regulars Dave Roush and Freddy Baker.

Along with those track records, Lance was able to successfully conclude the 2005 season, winning a bronze medal at the SCCA Kohler National Championship Runoffs, by finishing on the podium for the first time with a strong third place finish. The two drivers finishing ahead of him were seven time SCCA National Champion, and multiple professional driving championship winner John Heinricy, on his customary spot on top of the podium, along with the factory Dodge Viper of past World Challenge GT race winner Scotty B. White.

This strong finish to the 2005 season served only to motivate Lance and LadyLuck Motorsports even more, resulting in an increased focus, dedication and intensity for the upcoming 2006 season. No expense, effort or resource will be spared in Lady Luck's relentless pursuit of the top-spot on the podium at Heartland Park Topeka's first ever hosting of the SCCA National Championship Runoffs! Returning on board this season to help with this renewed effort and commitment will be the incredible technical and testing support of Hoosier Tire, Hawk Performance, Jay Chevrolet, and a welcome new addition to LadyLuck Motorsports, Moton Suspension Systems.

As in the past look for the #37 to be crushing track records, using the incredible grip of Hoosier Racing Tire construction and compounds. "Last season with Hoosier Tire, and Hoosier Program Director Bruce Foss onboard, these tires gave me the confidence and trust to go into corners all-out, and completely on the edge, knowing that the Hoosier tire's performance would hold-up, and stay consistent lap after lap." commented Lance.

Also helping to get the #37 car through the corners, and maximizing the grip of the Hoosier Racing Tires, will be the awesome technology of Moton Suspension Dampers, assisted by their point-man Lex Carson. With the changing of T1 rules in October of 2005, LadyLuck Motorsports will now be able to utilize the technologically superior, multi-adjustable, remote reservoir Moton dampers. "From what Lex, the LadyLuck team, and I observed at our testing outings this past January at Sebring and Homestead, these babies are awesome! They will prove to be a real advantage over other lesser products throughout the 2006 season" said Lance.

It takes more than just tires to win races, and so LadyLuck and Lance turn once again (for the third straight year) to Hawk Performance to get the job done on late braking maneuvers. "I have tried every type of pad out there and the Hawk pads get you stopped when and were you need it most. Their new DTC-70 compound is awesome!"

Along with these partners will be Jay Chevrolet- once again chosen as LadyLuck's official supplier of genuine GM Performance parts, as a direct result of their ability to get whatever we need whenever we need it.

With the new season only five weeks away, and all of our great technical partners lined-up, look for the #37 to be taking checkered flags at a track near you!
