ROL Gaskets Joins 12 Hours at the Point
November 11, 2003: ROL Gaskets and the Washington, DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America announced today that ROL Gaskets would be a contingency sponsor for the June 4-5, 2004 6th Annual Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point. The race longest and oldest perennial endurance race sanctioned by the SCCA is held on challenging two-mile Summit Point Raceway located in the Summit Point Motorsports Park, Summit Point, WV. The 12 Hours at the Point, an endurance race for sports car and sedans, has become a must-do event among grassroots endurance racers.
"ROL Industries has watched this event grow each year and we are happy to be a part of the 12 Hours at the Point," said Brian Owens, Marketing Coordinator. ROL, while offering a full line of engine seals for automobiles and light trucks, is a leading manufacturer of performance gaskets and the largest North American manufacturer of aftermarket exhaust accessories. Owns added, "I can think of no better way to prove the reliability, durability and performance of ROL Gaskets than competing in the 12 Hours at the Point." ROL Gaskets will provide a $150 in product -- redeemable from the factory in Oviedo, Florida -- for each eligible class-winning car and $50 in product for each eligible 6th-in-class finisher.
"DC Region is grateful for the support we are receiving from ROL Gaskets," said Bill Radford, DC Board of Director member. According to Radford, ROL Industries has been a long-time support of SCCA and for many has established contingency prizes for the Valvoline Runoffs -- the SCCA National Championships. "The Runoffs are the Superbowl of amateur racing, but we feel that the 12 Hours at the Point is the Superbowl of amateur endurance racing."
The 6th Annual 12 Hours at the Point will take place rain or shine and, like all SCCA races at Summit Point, is open to spectators. Details on the event can be found on the 12 Hours at the Point website (www.12hoursatthepoint.org).
