DC Region Announces 5th Annual 12 Hours at the Point 3 January 2003: The Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America announced today that the 12 Hours at the Point would return for its fifth consecutive year and that it was accepting intent to enter forms from competitors. The 12 Hours at the Point, an endurance race for sports car and sedans, will once again be held on the two-mile Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, West Virginia. The May 30-31, 2003 event is the longest perennially held amateur endurance event in the US.

As part of the event, DC Region is organizing a contingency prize sponsorship program for the competitors. Last year's event, the Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point, was the first year the Region organized the program. The competitor response was overwhelmingly in favor of continuing the program.

The 5th Annual 12 Hours at the Point will take place rain or shine and, like all SCCA races at Summit Point, is open to spectators. Details on the event can be found on the 12 Hours at the Point website (www.12hoursatthepoint.org).
