Kumho Tires Returns to Sponsor 8th Annual Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point

2 February 2006: The Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America is happy to announce the return of Kumho Tires, a leading manufacturer of tires for street and racing, as the sponsor of the 8th Annual 12 Hours at the Point, an endurance race for sports cars and sedans. The June 16-17, 2006 event will be held at Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, WV. The grueling once-around-the-clock race is the longest perennially held amateur endurance event sanctioned by SCCA.

"Kumho Tires has always supported amateur motorsports and we are proud to have Kumho Tires return for their fifth consecutive year," said Gayle Lorenz, DC Region Regional Executive. Lorenz added, "Kumho Tires has stepped up to the plate to support SCCA endurance racing and their sponsorship is vital in making these events successful." Once again, Kumho Tires has established a special contingency program for the Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point. According to Lorenz, "Kumho Tires is a committed partner for amateur racers and this is just one of the many ways that Kumho Tires participates."

Like all SCCA races at Summit Point, the Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point will take place rain or shine and is open to spectators. For more information and the latest news, please visit www.12hoursatthepoint.net.
