Hella, Inc. returns as contingency sponsor for 12 ours at the Point.

15October2003: The Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America is happy to announce that Hella, Inc, a provider of world-class of innovative products and systems in lighting technology and electronics for motor vehicles, is returning as a contingency sponsor for the 6th Annual Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point. The June 4-5, 2004 event held at Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, West Virginia is the longest perennially held amateur endurance race for sports cars and sedans and ranks with better-known endurance races such as The 24 Hours of Daytona, The 12 Hours of Sebring and Le Petit Le Mans. The final hours of the race, and for many fans, the most enjoyable hours, are run in the deep darkness of the Summit Point night.

"Hella USA is proud to return as a contingency sponsor for the premier amateur endurance race in the U.S.," said John Remakis, Marketing Manager. Remakis added "In 2003, Hella lighting systems set the night aglow for the winners of all of the premier professional endurance races and the premier amateur endurance race in the U.S. Hella USA expects that, when the checkered flag flies at The 24 Hours of Daytona, The 12 Hours of Sebring and the 12 Hours at the Point, you will see Hella lights on the race winners." A review of the final standings of past endurance events makes this a smart bet to make as Hella's dominance has been established for several years.

"The Region is happy to have dedicated sponsors like Hella USA return to the Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point," said Jeff Janoska, 12 Hour Contingency Chair. According to Janoska, " The Hella USA prize was one of the most sought after prizes in the program. Our competitors are going to be thrilled that Hella USA has returned for 2004." Details of the contingency program are available at www.12hoursatthepoint.org.

The June 4-5, 2004 Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point will be held rain or shine and is open to spectators. Free camping is included as is open access to all viewing areas, the paddock and grandstands. For ticket and other spectator information, see www.12hoursatthepoint.org
