Eagle One Industries Joins 12 Hours at the Point Program
January 16, 2004: Eagle One Industries, a brand that stands for uncompromising quality, superior performance and the highest level of consumer satisfaction, and the Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America are proud to announce that Eagle One Industries has joined the contingency program for the 6th Annual Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point endurance race for sports cars and sedans. The once-around-the-clock event has become an early spring tradition at two-mile Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, West Virginia. The 2004 staging of the race will take place on June 4 and June 5, 2004.
"Eagle One Industries is delighted to be a part of the 2004 Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point," said Kurt Sporrer of Eagle One Industries. Sporrer added, "We recognize that racing is more than going fast. Teams want to make their cars shine to keep their sponsors happy. Eagle One products are both gentle enough to preserve a car's finish, but tough enough to keep that clean appearance after 12 hours of grueling racing."
Eagle One Industries has established three prizes for the 2004 Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point -- The Eagle One Appearance Awards that will be awarded at random to eligible competitors; the coveted Eagle One Best Appearance Award that will be given to the team with the best looking race vehicle; and the not-so coveted Eagle One Needed Award that will be given to the team whose race vehicle is most in need. All prizes will consist of an Eagle One Industries detailing kit.
"We're proud to include Eagle One Industries as a contingency sponsor," said Jeff Janoska of the Region. Janoska added, "When we approached Eagle One Industries about joining the program, they were on board immediately and simply asked us what we would like them to do." According to Janoska, "Our chief steward does not know it yet, but I'm going to ask him to determine the winners of the Eagle One Best Appearance and Eagle One Needed prizes. If he follows these press releases, he'll know it now."
The 6th Annual 12 Hours at the Point will take place rain or shine and, like all SCCA races at Summit Point, is open to spectators. Details on the event can be found on the 12 Hours at the Point website (www.12hoursatthepoint.org).
