GMP Diecast joins 12 Hours at the Point contingency program.
November 4, 2003: GMP Diecast, a leading retailer of exhaustively researched and rigidly controlled manufactured diecast models, and the Washington, DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America announced today that GMP Diecast would be a contingency sponsor for the June 4-5, 2004 6th Annual Kumho Tires 12 Hours at the Point. The longest and oldest perennial endurance race sanctioned by the SCCA is held on challenging two-mile Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, WV. The 12 Hours at the Point, an endurance race for sports car and sedans, has become a must-do event among grassroots endurance racers.
"GMP Diecast is pleased to be a contingency sponsor for the 12 Hours at the Point," said Bruce Foster of GMP Diecast. This will be the first year that GMP Diecast, long known for their attention to detail and high value diecast reproductions of classic automobiles, airplanes and transporters, will be a contingency sponsor for the event. According to Foster, "GMP Diecast puts the same hard work, quality and attention in our diecast reproductions that these competitors put into their racing vehicles. We see the same dedication to detail in these amateur racers that we put into our reproductions."
"We are very happy to have GMP Diecast as a contingency sponsor," said Jeff Janoska of the Region. Janoska added, "The prizes that GMP Diecast has established are unique and something our competitors can display with pride in their homes. I think these prizes are going to be a huge hit."
The 6th Annual 12 Hours at the Point will take place rain or shine and, like all SCCA races at Summit Point, is open to spectators. Details on the event can be found on the 12 Hours at the Point website (www.12hoursatthepoint.org).
