TOPEKA, Kan. (June 12, 2003) -- The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), Inc. announced today that Mopar Performance has posted over $300,000 in potential payouts for successful competitors utilizing Dodge/Plymouth Neon automobiles in the 2003 SCCA Club Racing, The Tire Rack National Solo and ProRally seasons.

Through SCCA's Marketing Department, Mopar Performance will reward individual event winners, as well as Divisional and National Champions with cash prizes.

"We're happy to have Mopar Performance back supporting its Neon competitors across all of our SCCA programs," said Garret Mudd, SCCA VP of Marketing. "As has been the case in the past, no auto manufacturer offers better support to grassroots motorsports."

The programs are broken down as follows:

Club Racing Program: Showroom Stock C Neons are eligible for prizes in National events, with finishers in the top-three receiving $500, $250 and $100, respectively. These numbers are expanded in seven "Super" National events determined by Dodge held at Phoenix International Raceway (January), Road Atlanta (March), Heartland Park (June), Road America (June), Lime Rock (July), Texas Motor Speedway (July) and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (August).

Divisional Club Racing Champions receive an additional $1,000. 2003 Valvoline Runoffs payouts include $5,000 for a win, $3,000 for second, $1,000 for third and $1,000 for a pole with an additional $500 paid out to the top 10 starting Neons.

At the American Road Race of Champions (AARC) in November, Dodge will award $1,000 to a winning Neon, with $750 and $500 for second and third. The AARC starting bonus for the fastest 10 Neons is $350.
