FORT WORTH, TX (April 17, 2007) --- Team MER is proud to announce the start of an exciting new Autism awareness campaign in conjunction with AutismSpeaks.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of autism and raising money to fund autism research. Marc Miller, a MER partner and car owner of the #29 Mazda MX-5 driven by Brett Smrz, has pledged to place the AutismSpeaks.org logo as primary sponsor on the car. Miller and his family have been personally touched by Autism as his son, Evan, was recently diagnosed with the disorder.

"Before Evan, I had very little clue as to what Autism was and I want to share with others what my family has learned over the past year," said Miller. "I am very thankful for AutismSpeaks.org to work with me on helping to spread awareness on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and also to Brett Smrz, my driver, for allowing me to pursue this association on the racecar. It has been a very meaningful project for myself, my wife Jackie and the rest of our family."

"Our mission at Autism Speaks is to fund, promote and accelerate biomedical research and science-based approaches that seek to determine the causes, prevention, effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for autism spectrum disorders," said Rick Van Hooser, Texas Regional Director for Autism Speaks. "We are honored to have the support of Marc and Team MER to help us achieve this goal."

Miller will keep AutismSpeaks.org as primary sponsor on the car through the first two events to be held this weekend during the Houston Grand Prix as well as the Mitty Grand Prix at Road Atlanta the following week. Both events will be held during the last two weeks of April.

"Since April is Autism Awareness Month, this announcement comes at a perfect time," says Miller. "I am excited for the potential to reach an entirely new audience and thrilled that my fellow team members were so happy to come on board with a cause that holds such personal significance."

Team MER team boasts an experienced staff, public relations & marketing services, design department, driver coaching and testing facility.
