Kitchen named SCCA, Inc. Public Relations Manager.
TOPEKA, Kan. (April 29, 2003) -- The Sports Car Club of America, Inc. has named Curtis Kitchen as its Public Relations Manager.
Kitchen, 23, joins the SCCA staff after graduating from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., in December, 2002. At Washburn, Kitchen served as Student Assistant in the Sports Information Office from January of 2000 until his graduation this past winter.
"I'm very excited to be a part of SCCA," said Kitchen. "I've always wanted to be in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and I'm glad SCCA feels I can contribute to its continued growth."
Kitchen's primary responsibilities in the newly-created position will include the composition of feature articles and event coverage for the Performance Rally, Club Racing, and Solo/Road Rally departments. He will also work on new campaigns to promote the Club through its programs.
"A background in collegiate sports information is a perfect fit into the new position we've created," said Eric Prill, SCCA Director of Communications. "Curtis has the right skills and the desire to feature SCCA's ProRally and grassroots competitions in a way we've never been able to in the past."
The Oskaloosa, Kan. native earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mass Media with a double emphasis in Journalism and Public Relations and a minor in English. Kitchen can be reached in the SCCA offices at 800/770-2055 or at CKitchen@scca.com.
