From this week's Motoring News:

Wayne Gardner is linked to a SARD Toyota drive in the Japanese GT
Championship.

BMW is now "officially" the engine of the McLaren and is now allowed
to take some of the credit for future wins. Gordon Murray, meanwhile,
has done his bit to make the car faster - shedding some 65kg from
the car!

Thomas Bscher has lost his West backing for ... Keep reading

Monday's weather was a sudden change from the previous days glorious
sunshine. It was overcast skies and the threat of rain. A number of times
during the morning it started to spit, but thankfully it never actually
rained.

At 12 O'Clock the four hour race started. At the start the first
five places were taken by McLaren F1's, headed by the one driven by
Nielsen and Bscher. The Gulf ... Keep reading

McLaren has it its own way

Less cars appeared at the track than were initially promised. The
Morgans were withdrawn, as was a Konrad Porsche, and Promoracing
Venturi. This left 32 cars entered. The Ferrari F40's were withdrawn due
to a lack of gearbox parts - leaving Simpson Engineering's Ferrari 348LM
as the sole representative for the Maranello concern.

There seems, still, to be a few IFs here, pre-Feb.26 series start but:

Stefane Ratel, the "R" in BPR Organization, wants to make sure that
non-Porsche teams look seriously at the alternatives, ie. his two-car
F40 team, sponsored by Aldix Computers.

BPR insists that all cars be homologated for road use, ie. McLaren F1
GTR will be homologated Feb.1 -- but the new SARD Toyota MC8 ... Keep reading

"In terms of the feel, noise and weight, it is very close to the Jaguar
V-12 Group C cars," the Danish driver says. " Lots of things about the
F1 remind me of the Jaguars, especially the noise. The BMW V-12 sounds
beautiful."

The Dec. 20 OnTrack mentions BPR organizing 12-14 GT endurance races
in '95, with German Karcher Inc. backing. Then a few pages further on, it
mentions FIA's International Trophy for Endurance Cars in 1996, agreed (but
too late for '95) for convergence between FIA's GT regulations and ACO at
24h of Le Mans, 24h of Daytona, and possibly 24h of Japan.
