The TOCA working party is believed to be closer to agreement on the rules package for the BTCC in 2000. Alan Gow of TOCA has said "They are now looking at every word of every regulation"

Progress for Ford

Alain Menu and Anthony Reid are more confident that the new Ford Mondeo has a chance of running on the pace in the BTCC. The car, during testing at Donington Park, has run some 0.6 seconds a lap faster than any Mondeo has done in the past. The car is yet to run the new improved 99 spec engine.

Muller tops testing

Yvan Muller topped testing at Vallelunga this weekend, for the wet- weather touring car testing. His Vauxhall Vectra finished nearly 0.4s ahead of Laurent Aiello's Nissan Primera, with Nicola Larini's Alfa 3rd.
