Autoweek to Feature Ford Racing Mustang Challenge FR500S at SEMA

Tooele, UT (29 October 2008) - Just after one Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup FR500S hit the Strip in Las Vegas comes the news that another one will be hitting the city in its wake. This past weekend, the No. 00 "Media Car" was auctioned as part of the first ever Barrett-Jackson Auction to be staged in Las Vegas. And following close behind in its BFGoodrich Tire tracks, another Mustang Challenge machine will be making the trek to Vegas as part of one of the biggest automotive happenings of the year.

AutoWeek, America's only weekly automotive-enthusiast publication, will display the Ford Mustang FR500S in it's booth during the SEMA show on November 4-7. AutoWeek, which turned 50 this past July, will celebrate it's milestone at this year's show. With the likes of Carroll Shelby, Bobby and Graham Rahal and other automotive celebrities, the Mustang Challenge will be part of the celebration both leading up to and during the SEMA event.

Staged at the Las Vegas Convention Center and covering nearly two million square feet, the SEMA show has grown significantly, attracting over 60,000 industry insiders to last year's event. The presence in the AutoWeek booth also marks a dynamic first year for the Mustang Challenge series, which was announced just last year at the SEMA show and went on to stage an impressive inaugural season in 2008.

"To be part of the AutoWeek display during their 50th Anniversary celebrations is very flattering and it's a great opportunity for the series, so we're excited to be a part of their big event," said Mustang Challenge Series Director Lynda Randall. "It's hard to believe that we were just announcing the series at SEMA last year, and after a great first year, now we're looking forward to an even better 2009. SEMA is a great event, so we are also looking forward to seeing a lot of our drivers and sponsor partners there as well."

The Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup will open the 2009 Championship season with a double race weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 13-15.
