April 28, 2003 Kershaw, SC - The first race of the 2003 Stock Car Championship Series (SCCS) is just around the corner but some of the teams had a warm up test session on Friday, April 25th. Wet weather conditions would have made Friday's test a bust for most stock car series at Carolina Motorsports Park, but the SCCS teams were able to get a full day of testing.

The teams started off the day with steady rain which slowed as the morning progressed. The rain stopped around mid day, allowing the track to dry before resuming mid-afternoon. This weather combination provided excellent testing conditions for both wet and intermediate set-ups.

"SCCS cars will run in the rain," stated Lynnie Doughton SCCS commissioner, "Our plans have always been to compete in wet conditions. We were blessed with dry weekends all last season and never had a good opportunity to test these cars in the rain. We are really happy with the data we gathered during this test."

The Stock Car Championship Series cars will open its 2003 season at the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL as part of the At the Park weekend with the Grand American series on May 16-18, 2003.
