HANCOCK TO COMPETE IN DUBAI 24 HOURS

Having conquered the logistical challenge in getting from America to Dubai at very short notice, British sportscar driver Sam Hancock is delighted to announce that he will line up this weekend for EDM Motorsport in the Toyo Tyres Dubai 24 Hours, aboard the British squad's BMW E46 M3 GT in the 'A6' class of the annual enduro.

Hancock, who has been in Daytona, Florida over the last few days for meetings with teams from the U.S-based Grand Am series, was a last minute invitation to the race after EDM drivers Peter Hardman, John Minshaw and Philip Walker unexpectedly found themselves a man down. Naturally thrilled at the chance to kick of his 2007 season with such a big event, the 27-year old set about boarding the next available flight.

" I actually got the call from Peter on Tuesday morning," said Hancock, "and immediately started trying to figure out if it was going to be possible to get out there in time for qualifying on Thursday. Luckily, it was - just! I've been training hard out in Florida so I feel well prepared and highly motivated after a long winter break. I'm looking forward to getting out there and getting down to work. I'm not sure what our chances are in terms of the competition etc, but knowing Peter as well as I do, I have no doubt that the team will be brilliantly run and ready to go. I'd like to thank them enormously for thinking of me and intend to repay their faith with a good solid job this weekend."
