Caddell Leads Ford Mustangs at Mosport International

Bowmanville, Ontario (13 June 2008) -- Looking at the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup practice time sheets, it would be hard to tell that it has been six weeks since the Series' last outing, as Andrew Caddell of Graham, Washington picked up right where he left off from winning the opening race at Road Atlanta, as he led all three practice sessions on Friday at Mosport International Raceway in preparation for Sunday's 45-minute race.

"I was just trying to find some grip out there but I'm really pleased with how things have gone so far," said Caddell, who got his first exposure to the high-speed track behind the wheel of a Mazda MX-5. "We got some good laps in and even though we were running some older BFGoodrich Tires, the car was pretty good. These are likely pretty much the same conditions that we will have in qualifying tomorrow afternoon, so I'm happy to end up on top with my TC Motorsports teammate just behind me in second. Hopefully we can do that again tomorrow!"

Taking second in the final practice session was Carlo Sparacio, who scored the BFGoodrich Tires "Take Control" Award in round one for his charge from last to sixth place, and the Federal Way, Washington resident is hoping to get a little better spot on the grid for Sunday's 45-minute race.

"This is my first time running at Mosport and I really love it, although every driver likes a track where they are fast!" said Sparacio, "There are some fast, blind corners and tons of elevation changes and I am really enjoying it. We are still working on getting comfortable on this track and improving our set-up and hopefully qualifying goes well tomorrow."

None of the three practice sessions were interrupted by a yellow flag, with nineteen Ford Mustang FR500S machines taking part in the days running. Saturday will open with a morning practice session ahead of a half-hour late afternoon qualifying session for Sunday's race.
