Joliet, IL - It had been over a year since Cole Bosanoz sat in a racecar, yet he wasted little time returning to form July 16, 2010. Bosanoz, took to the track at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. for a 3-hour road racing endurance contest with Autobahn member Don Krihak. The duo paired up to race the NASA sanctioned event in Krihak's Spec Miata.

After nearly 200 miles of driving the team's 07 Miata would finish 4th overall and second in the E3 class of competition around the 3.56 mile circuit.

As the 32 car field took the green, Krihak would be in the car for the first stint. Fighting fatigue in the hot afternoon sun, Krihak would set a consistent pace. Temperatures as the race started neared the 100 degree-heat index mark. After an hour and a half Krihak brought his Miata in to hand over to Bosanoz in 4th place. The veteran crew of Ryan Osiecki and Ed Pasek ensured that no fuel would spill, a penalty that several other teams incurred. Cole would waste little time setting the team's fastest time of the race on lap 37, shortly after making their first pit stop. With 40 minutes to go a vibration due to a loose wheel began to worsen. The team was leading with ten minutes to go when the vibration became almost unbearable. Cole slowed his pace due to the wheel vibration and conservation of fuel, relinquishing the lead. With 2 miles remaining in the race the wheel gave way and Bosanoz had to pull over on the last lap. Fortunately for the team, they had opened a big gap and executed fair pit strategy that would ensure the team would finish second in class regardless.

"It was unfortunate to end the race like that, that's neither what Don or I wanted," stated Cole after the race. "When the vibration started it was a little un-nerving, but as a whole the race was fun. I have to thank Mike Brinati and Bill Keely as well as Don Krihak for the opportunity.

From here, Cole readies for his video submission deadline to win a spot in the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Driver Shootout in Toole, UT. If Cole wins, he will contest the final Mustang Challenge race of the year for free.
