BATHURST 24-HOUR UPDATE - 14-HOUR REPORT

The British Cirtek Motorsport Porsche team is maintaining a commanding lead in the Bathurst 24 Hour with only 10 hours to go.

The Porsche, along with drivers David Brabham, Allan Grice, Manfred Jurez and Darren Palmer, hasn't missed a beat in the first 14 hours and 306 laps, and if the team continues to lead and remain mistake and accident free, it's online to secure a piece of Bathurst and Australian motorsport history

While the Porsche was doing its own thing out in front, a battle was looming for the minor places, with Monaro eventually prevailing securing second spot from the Mosler MT900R.

The Mosler team of Martin Short, Mark Pashley, Charles Lamb and Dilantha Malagamuw suffered clutch problems causing two un-schedualed pitstops and although the Monaro had its fair share of problems after an altercation with the BMW 318i of Debbie Chapman in The Chase, moved into second spot relegating the British team into third.

With the race moving into the final stages today, the action is expected to heat up as the hours wear down and the teams prepare for their final assault on the "The Greatest Race of All".
