The Ferrari N-GT of John Bowe, Brad Jones, John Teulan and Paul Morris was the latest casualty of the Bathurst 24 Hour after blowing their second and last engine just arfter midnight.

Morris was making his way up the Mountain when the spare engine blew at The Cutting and after the car was examined back at the pits the decision was made it would not make its way back onto the track.

The Cirtek Motorsport Porsche of David Brabham, Manfred Jurez, Allan Grice and Darren Palmer maintained its lead throughout the last two hours. The car has been running consistent and is seven laps clear of Martin Short, Mark Pashley, Charles Lamb and Dilantha Malagumuw in their Mosler MT900R.

The Monaro combination of Garth Tander, Steven Richards, Nathan Pretty and Cameron McConville after starting to make their way up the grid moving into third place and are aiming for second.

The field has been making its way into the pits for regulation stops, while the Pro-Duct Motosport car is back on track after changing a motor, and the Castrol car is expected back at about 3.30am when it too finishes changing an engine.

3 Richards laps (Monaro) 215
