Update at 9 PM Saturday

Racing resumed at 9 pm on lap 144, after 13 laps behind the Safety Car.

The caution period was called while crews removed the wrecked 26# BMW, driven by Mark Westbrook, and repaired the tyre wall at McPhillamy Park. However, the team's other BMW, 27#, continued to lead Class D.

Monaros 427# and 05# held the first two places, with Andrea Montermini one lap down in the Austrian BE Racing Ferrari 360GT.

The Morgan retired with piston through the block. Neil Cunningham: "The car had been running like clockwork. It just went bang -- it was nothing to do with the earlier overheating problem, which was due to a split water hose. We'll be back next year bigger and better than ever."
