Aaron avoids carnage at Thruxton!

In a thrilling incident packed Clio Cup race at Thruxton on May Bank Holiday, Tim Norton Motor Services driver, Aaron Scott, avoided incident to bring his Omnico backed car home in 7th place and collect a healthy helping of points.

After a fantastic test last month at the high speed Hampshire track, where Aaron finished 7th fastest, the team had high hopes for the weekend. Scott was frustrated to qualify only 13th after making a bad call on set up, however, he was confident for a top 10 result in the race.

Following a good start in the race Scott was 12th entering the complex on lap 1, however a spinner on the exit delayed him and he dropped down the pack to 18th at the end of the 1st lap. Scott began to claw his way back up the order and was up to 14th as the red flags came out after a handful of laps. In the restarted race Aaron climbed to 6th before the red flags came out again. The result was declared at the positions on the preceding lap and Aaron was classified in 7th place.

Aaron said, " It was a hectic race. I think we would have finished even higher had we more laps, the race was scheduled for 14 laps and we only completed 7! However, there were some big shunts today and the officials had no other choice. I'm happy to score some points after Oulton Park!"

Team manager, Nigel Gathercole said, " We are happy with progress, when we joined the Clio Cup at Brands we were told it would take 4 or 5 races to get fully up to speed and we feel that we are on target at this time."
