SUSPENSION COMPONENT PREMATURELY ENDS KEN BLOCK'S FIESTA RALLY DEBUT

LEWISTON, Mich., Jan. 30, 2010 -- The 2010 Rally America debut for Ken Block and the Monster World Rally Team Fiesta couldn't have started any better. Block, making his first start as a Ford driver in his newly formed global rally program, piloted the 2011 Fiesta to the quickest time in the first stage of Rally America's 2010 Sno*Drift Rally. Unfortunately for Block a suspension component failure in Stage 7 left him unable to finish and prematurely ended his weekend in Northern Michigan.

"Everything started great," said Block. "I won the first stage, which was unexpected with this being my first time really racing the Fiesta. The conditions were really bad, possibly the iciest roads I have ever raced, so my plan was to drive on the conservative side, which I was doing. Then the suspension went after taking a few minor impacts and I was out, just like that. And while obviously disappointed, I am really looking forward to 100 Acre Woods. The Fiesta has so much torque, and was running so strong; it will be great to see what it can do with proper traction."

The Monster World Rally Team will spend the next month getting ready for the second stop of the Rally America Series, February 26 -- 27 the Rally in The 100 Acre Woods in Salem, Missouri. Block will also spend time preparing for his World Rally Championship (WRC) debut in Mexico in early March where he will pilot the Monster Energy Drink Focus RS.
