Official Test with great importance in the Sata Rallye Azores 2002.
The chosen landsite for the three kilometres of Shakedown in the 2002 edition of the Sata Rallye Azores was Gramas, where the main drivers ran their official tests.
Armin Kremer (European Championship)
"This a tough rally, and for that reason we worked hard at the shake-down. The SS's are generally narrow, with abrasive terrain, so I am afraid our choice of tyres was not the best one. Our choice of tyres was based on the information we got, and the type of rubber we choose can be at times troublesome due to the extent of the SS's"
"This is the first time we participate in this event and I can guarantee that is a very tough rally. Ours is no the best WRC in the pack and I was not yet familiarized with this machine until this morning's shakedown. But overall, I think it will be a lot of fun. I hope the public can appreciate our performance"
"The test was important, since the car revealed a turbo problem. Fortunately we found a solution and I hope it will be 100% reliable for the rally. It is a beautiful rally, but nevertheless complicated for a first"
"I didn't participate in this event last year, but I am still aware of most of the SS's I ran in 2000. The Peugeot 206 WRC will surely be efficient, so we are quite motivated. I appreciate this rally a lot and now with our WRC it will surely be all the more amazing, compared to the group N"
"This will be a good event to reanimate to fight for the Portuguese Championship lead. I had no luck last year, but this year I believe it can be different. Soccer player, Pauleta came to wish me luck this morning, and promised to keep up with the rally"
