Symtech aims to end the season on a high at the final round in Poland
The final round of the Polish Rally Championship, the 19th Dolnoslaski Rally, takes place this weekend in the Klodzko region to the south west of Poland. After a successful season, Symtech Racing is aiming to end the year on a high with Subaru Poland's factory driver Kajto Kajetanowicz. At the same time,
Symtech Racing will also be running another Subaru Impreza for the Ukrainian crew of Yurii Protasov and Oleksandr Skochyk. The Ukrainians are contesting the Dolnoslaski event for the first time, in preparation for a full assault on the Polish Rally Championship in 2010.
The Dolnoalski Rally promises to deliver a fierce battle, as the title is far from won. Everything is still wide open: both in Group N and the overall championship. This year's title is likely to go to Leszek Kuzaj, Thomas Kuchar or Bryan Bouffier. Kajto Kajetanowicz is still in contention for the Group N win, along with Bouffier. The Dolnoalsski Rally, which comprises 167 all-asphalt competitive kilometres, will get underway with a prologue stage on Thursday 8 October.
Kajto Kajetanowicz and his co-driver Jarek Baran are ready for action: "We're going to do everything we can to end the season on a high, in order to thank all the partners whose support has allowed us to contest the season. In particular, I'd like to thank Witold Rogalski, the Managing Director of Subaru Poland, who gave the green light to this project. We'll need a bit of luck to become champions but we're going to fight to the last metre on Saturday!"
Wim De Boeck, Symtech Racing: "As has been the case on all the other rallies, we are leaving nothing to chance. After the retirement on the Orlen Rally, we even decided to fit a brand new engine. Also, Kajto was able to benefit from a test session as usual at the start of the week. We're more than ready and we can't wait to get going now."
The Dolnoslaski Rally will get underway with a prologue stage on Thursday 8 October. On Friday 9 October there are nine stages on the menu, followed by seven more on Saturday 10 October. The finish is scheduled on Saturday at around 16:30.
