Motors TV is set become the home of Rallycross in 2009 after finalising deals to broadcast two of the sport's top championships.
After renewing their partnership with the MSA British Rallycross Championship, the UK's premier domestic category, the High Speed Television Channel is proud to announce details of its European Rallycross coverage.
All ten rounds of the FIA championship, as well as the eight ERA sanctioned events, will be shown just over a week after the action takes place. The hour-long, primetime Monday night slot at 8pm offers a great chance to watch the continent's top Rallycross drivers and cars battling it out in close quarters on dual dirt and asphalt courses.
Not since Rallycross' halcyon days of the 1980s has the sport benefitted from this level of dedicated coverage as fans rediscover its unique appeal.
Motors TV's Head of Programming and Acquisitions, Frederic Viger said, "Rallycross is a great sport which, thanks to fast paced, short races and full on action, represents one of television's most suitable motorsports. In fact, it's difficult to think of anything better! We know from our previous experiences with British Rallycross, which we've been showing for a number of years now, that there's a large fan base out there desperate to catch coverage of a European scene which has staged a comeback in recent seasons thanks to an increasing number of international entries. I'm sure 2009 will continue that trend."
Catch the opening round of the European Championships from Lydden Hill, with a guest appearance from the original voice of Rallycross, Murray Walker, Monday, 20th April from 8pm.
