The 19th edition of the "Rallye du Printemps", 1st round of the 2002 Lebanese Rally Championship started at The Mechref Club with twelve cars present at the departure.

The event began in the presence of the vice president of the ATCL and coordinator of the CSN; Mr. Jacques Salha and the member of the ATCL; Mr. Michel Mehanna, journalists and a public of rally amateurs.

After the Lebanese National Anthem, starter Mr. Raymond Attieh gave the departure's signal for the event's opening. All drivers hoped to arrive safely and get good results in the first national rally of this year's calendar counted in the Lebanese Championship as coefficient number 4.

The "Rally du Printemps" in its 19th edition was held over eight special stages with a total distance of 107.49 km, while the total distance of the course is 362.37 km.

The 2001 Lebanese rally champion Doumit Bou Doumit and his co-driver Nabil Njeim took the lead after the first section with a difference of 44''01 from Michel Saleh and Ziad Chehab.

From the 12 cars that took the departure from the Mechref Club only nine reached the podium of the "Rallye du Printemps" in its 19th edition.

First in the overall classification was the Champion of Lebanon 2001: Doumit Bou Doumit and Nabil Njeim in a Mitsubishi Lancer EvoV with an overall time of 1:05:16:9.

Followed by Michel Saleh and Ziad Chehab in a Toyota Celica with an overall time of 1:07:46:4.

Whereas the third place was occupied by Rodrigue Rahi and Patrick Ziade on a Lancia Delta HF Int with an overall time of 1:8:34:1.

The event witnessed the withdrawal of three cars: Car No. 2 Ziad Feghali and Georges Nasr in a Renault Clio Williams, Car No. 6 Bechara Bechir and Charbel Bou Kenj in a Peugeot 306 S16 and Car No. 11 Toufic Klailat and Mouhammad Klailat in a BMW 320.
