The Interwetten Racing Team will take up their fifth IRC-run in the Czech Zlin area as 22nd car

This morning the shakedown for the Barum-Rally 2009 on the 3,4 kilometres long course in Oldrichovice took place under midusmmery conditions.

Franz Wittmann/ Bernhard Ettel completed two turns altogether in their Mitsubishi Evo IX deployed by Stohl Racing and found the result encouraging.

"Our main goal was a true functional test of the car under racing conditions rather than the time reached. We can be satisfied with the result. Both the car as well as Bernhard and I are easy and are looking forward to the rally. A peculiarity of the Barum-Rally is that the composition of the tarmac builds up a lot of grip. A circumstance that takes getting used to. This evening the beginning of the Barum-Rally will take place on a circuit in Zlin with three laps and almost 10 kilometres length. The organiser expects almost 200.000 spectators during the coming rally days," explains the Interwetten Racing driver.

Already prior to the start of the rally the organiser in Zlin has offered several activities for the fans in which the drivers were also involved. Photo shootings, autograph signings, etc. turn this IRC-run in the Czech Republic into an absolute seasonal highlight - both for the drivers and the fans.

The Interwetten Racing Team, that celebrates its premiere at the Barum- Rally, made use of the last two days with the recce and the writing down of the pace notes. Each special stage could only be completed twice.
