Jaromir Tarabus makes his debut with Ford Fiesta S2000
Czech Ford Rally Team's driver Jaromir Tarabus and his co-driver Daniel Trunkat are set to make their debut in Czech Rally Championship with a brand new Ford Fiesta S2000 this weekend. In the opening round of the championship Valasska rally Tarabus and Trunkat would like to attack the podium. But they are also aware they have to learn their new car and get used to it.
The brand new Ford Fiesta S2000 arrived to Czech Republic in the beginning of the last week from British headquarters of M-Sport. On Tuesday Jaromir Tarabus drove the Fiesta for the first time during a one-day test. In the presence of his team-mate and the reigning Junior World Rally Champion Martin Prokop, Tarabus shook down the Fiesta on two different stages.
Jaromir Tarabus, Czech Ford Rally Team's driver: "We completed one-day test of the Fiesta S2000, in which we focused especially on a set-up. In the morning we ran on a straighter and faster stage, and for the afternoon session we chose more technical stage. We did a lot of work on the car's set-up, which we will fine-tune during the rally. To drive the Fiesta has been a great feeling and an experience. Especially the chassis is excellent, and I feel there's a lot of potential with the car."
Jaromir Tarabus and Daniel Trunkat finished 5th in the 2009 Czech Rally Championship. They would like to improve their result this year. Tarabus and Trunkat enter the 2010 season with the focus to make the most of their opportunity as Czech Ford Rally Team's drivers and attack the Top 3 in the overall rankings. To carry out their goal, Tarabus and Trunkat want to achieve the best possible result already in the opening round of Czech Rally Championship, Valasska rally.
Jaromir Tarabus: "We will do the best we can to achieve the best possible result. We would like to be in the Top 3, although we are aware how difficult it will be because of a strong competition. We are going to learn the car and getting used to it, and we will see, which result we can think of."
Valasska rally, the opening round of Czech Rally Championship, takes place on March 26/27 in Valasske Mezirici. Drivers will complete 174 kilometres of super stages during two days.
