Hockridge returns for home rally

Pwhelli based Andrew Hockridge will contest his first rally in almost 12 months when he teams up with fellow Welshman Darren Garrod to tackle the forthcoming Cambrian Rally. The pair will use the same Citroen C2R2 Max which Andrew powered to second in the C2R2cup in 2008.

Business commitments have kept Andrew on the sidelines in 2010 but the Welshman will be dusting off his overalls for his local rally. Darren has been in action already this year, taking Group N awards in Barbados and Belgium, but is aware that neither of them has the best track record on the Cambrian Rally.

Andrew's last attempt at the Llandudno based rally ended with fuel starvation before the half way point, whilst Darren's most recent experience of the famous North Wales stages ended in a ditch on the opening test after being caught out on black ice!

Andrew; 2010 has been a very busy year for me as we've been expanding the business. I finally have a free weekend and so Darren and I decided to tackle our local rally in the C2 Max. I haven't used this car in a long time and neither of us has finished the Cambrian before so it should be an interesting rally but we are just there for a bit of fun!

The 2010 Cambrian Rally takes place on 16 October and is the final round of the BTRDA and Welsh National Rally Championships. The rally uses such famous forest stages as Penmachno and Clocaenog before the crews head back to Llandudno for the ceremonial finish late in the afternoon.
