Alister McRae launches brand-new WAP site
Alister McRae has announced that he has launched his own WAP site, becoming the first rally driver to do so. The special site, designed specifically to work on mobile phones around the world, will allow fans to stay in touch with Alister and benefit from some of the most innovative and exciting content, including exclusive videos and competitions.
With the development in mobile communications, both in handset technology and the speed of the networks themselves, websites and content through mobile phones is seen as one of the biggest growth areas for the future. Alister McRae has recognised this and has developed his WAP site to allow fans unparalleled access to his world.
The site will feature the latest news on Alister, from his work developing the new Toyota Super 2000 rally car, which he successfully debuted on last year's Wales Rally GB to coverage of actual rally competition. Users will also get access to exclusive tips and techniques from the man himself, which will prove essential for any budding rally driver. The site will feature a series of competitions, with a variety of prizes, including the opportunity to spend a day at the Alister McRae Experience, which culminates in high-speed, action-packed passenger rides with Alister in a remarkable selection of rally cars.
Not only will Alister's site feature the kind of heart-pounding action you usually only get in a rally stage, it will also feature some of the best up-and-coming new music on the UK scene via Moyst Unsigned. Developed by mobile pioneer Moyst Ltd, which provides mobile solutions for a host of companies and networks including BMG and Vodafone, Alister's site will feature a free to enter competition, through Moyst Unsigned, for fans to choose their favourite music. The winner will be the band which gets the most votes and its music will then feature on the site.
But it's not just new music which will feature on the site. The legendary rock band Thunder will also be partnering with Alister, with the band's music becoming a soundtrack to the site. Music from Thunder's last album Robert Johnson's Tombstone including their most recent top-40 hit The Devil Made Me Do It appears on the new WAP site along with exclusive video footage.
There is also plenty of content for dance music fans, through the Moyst Ibiza partnership, which saw the company providing content from the 2006 summer season on the island, recognised as the global home of dance music. Both rock and dance tunes can be downloaded from the site, either as ring tones or the full track.
