Appeals Count Upholds Watkins Glen Touring Car Incident Ruling

TOPEKA, Kan. (Aug. 8, 2007) -- An SCCA Pro Racing Court of Appeals convened and has upheld the initial protest court's decision regarding the incident between drivers Jeff Altenburg and Pierre Kleinubing during Round Five of the 2007 SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship held at Watkins Glen International.

Altenburg was fined 10 drivers' points and Mazda one manufacturers' point for contact with Kleinubing. Altenburg appealed the decision, which was heard per the SCCA Pro Racing Regulations. The decision was rendered Monday, Aug. 6.
