Kleinubing's Third Straight Pole

Nabs First-ever Professional Pole at Miller Motorsports Park

July 14, 2006 -- Tooele, Utah RealTime Acura driver Pierre Kleinubing dominated the SCCA SPEED Touring Car qualifying at the sprawling Miller Motorsports Park to earn the first professional racing series pole position at this new track.

Kleinubing qualified his Acura Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles-sponsored RealTime Racing Acura TSX on the pole with a time of 3:09.233 for an average speed of 85.342 miles per hour on the 4.486-mile, 24-turn layout.

The pole shot was Kleinubing's third consecutive this season and the Touring Car series-record 29th.

With Kleinubing's point for winning the pole, he will start Saturday's 50-minute race with a 13-point lead over Mazda driver Randy Pobst. Acura holds a four-point margin for the Manufacturers' Championship over Mazda.

Team owner Peter Cunningham was third fastest in his TSX with a best lap of 3:09.550, followed in fourth place by teammate Eric Curran with a 3:09.820 in his Acura RSX.

Brandon Davis was tenth quickest at 3:10.945 in his RSX, followed by Nick Esayian in 17th with a 3:12.264 lap.

The race starts Saturday at 545p ET and can be followed live on the internet at www.world-challenge.com, then to the link for the live timing and scoring feed.

Speed TV will tape the race for broadcast on Saturday, July 22 at 300p ET on the Speed Channel.
