Bowmanville, Ontario - August 17, 2002 - After breaking the track record in qualifying, Will Turner [#92 Turner Motorsport / H&R Springs BMW 325i] put it all on the line from start to finish in round eight of the SPEED World Challenge Touring at the Mosport International Raceway mail2web.com Mosport Grand Prix.

Turner's second place was sacrificed for a shot at the win in the final two corners. Making a run on the leader on the last lap, Turner went for an all or nothing move. As he pulled inside of #40 [Paul Bonaccorsi] going into turn ten, he couldn't make it stick. With a report of oil in turn nine, as the #40 drove in, Turner attacked on the inside. As they exited side-by-side, the #80 was able to get on the power first. #81 [Fitzgerald], who was close, in third, was able to get a run on Turner, and got to the stripe first to finish second.

Setting the fastest lap of the race, [1:35.389] Turner made no apologies going for the lead on the final lap.

"I came here to win and ducked to the inside of Paul [Bonaccorsi] in the last corner," said Turner. "I wanted to keep it clean but then again I wanted to win. It didn't work out. Unfortunately, Fitzgerald just went by me on the front straight after I committed to the inside. He should go through that corner like that all the time."

Bobby Sak [#93 Turner Motorsport / H&R Springs /missingkids.com BMW 325i] was having a stand out day posting the third fastest lap and battling for sixth position. Unfortunately, an altercation put the #93 on a curb and damaged the rear suspension causing the car to spin. Bobby would ultimately retire the car and finish his day in 27th.

"The good news is I had a great car," said Bobby. I'm not sure how my rear shock was damaged, although the car did come down on the curb pretty hard. At least I was battling and I was moving forward. These things happen... it's a little easier to take when you know you were moving forward. I had excellent power today."

Frank Selldorff, [#94 Turner Motorsport / H&R Springs BMW 325i] started 18th and finished 18th.
